In 1987, Chip Conley started his own hospitality company, Joie de Vivre (JDV), and, as CEO for two-‐dozen years, grew it into the second largest boutique hotel company in the United States. Chip and his company’s time-‐tested techniques and transformational leadership practices have been featured in every major news outlet including TIME, USA Today, Fortune and The Wall Street Journal. Chip is a highly sought after speaker – from TED to INC to GOOGLE. The San Francisco Business Times named Chip the Most Innovative CEO – and JDV the “2nd Best Place to Work” – in the entire Bay Area.
Founding Director: Maria Jenson
Maria is the founding director of ArtPadSF, which launched in May 2011 at the Phoenix Hotel, San Francisco. She is a member of Artadia, a prestigious art organization and serves on the Executive Committee of ArtTable and is active in the community working with groups to provide opportunities for youth to explore their creativity. Previously Maria was the founder and director of Salon Oblique, a contemporary exhibition space and art consultancy established in Venice, CA. In 2010, she also served as the director of an independent emerging art fair in Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach. She has mounted numerous exhibitions debuting a wide diversity of artists from California and beyond.
Associate Director: Alissa Polan
Alissa has been involved in the arts for many years, first by attending Sonoma State University to receive her Bachelors of Fine Art degree in Painting, then to the prestigious San Francisco Art Institute for her Masters of Fine Art in Sculpture. She has worked for the San Francisco based Marx & Zavattero and was also the Gallery Director for Palette Art Gallery in Healdsburg, CA.
VIP Manager: Amber Jean Young
Amber Jean Young graduated from Kenyon College in 2006 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Studio Art she returned home and took up residence in San Francisco. Amber graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute’s Post Baccalaureate program in 2008 and the Master of Fine Art program in 2010. She has worked and exhibited in galleries throughout San Francisco and nationally.
